Authors of web logs, also known as blogs, write about their thoughts, experiences, opinions, anything they wish. When they post their blog they can decide whether to keep it private or make it public. If they protect it as private, they invite others via email to read and comment on their entries. Only those invited others can access the blog to comment. If the blogger makes the blog public, anyone online can read and comment on the entries. Neither the public nor the private users can edit the blog entries, only the author has permission to do that.
